Bee Happy Homes – Becoming a Proverbs 31 Woman

Joy’s Orphan Home

K.O.R.E. ministry began with feeding and christian schooling of orphans in rural India.  They did not have a home, only grass huts.  During monsoons each year, we would get reports that their huts were washed away and children were sick.  This was heart wrenching.

Jeff talked to Joy about the orphans each night at bedtime, and they would pray.  Then Jeff and I would switch.  He would go do the same with the boys, and I would go spend time and pray with Joy.  All this after Bible songs and Bible story time together.  Each night, starting at age three, Joy’s prayers would just melt my heart.  Joy was born again at three (I hope to share that later), and her prayers were alive.  She would often pray for the orphans to have a home.  She prayed for this much more than Jeff and I combined.

Well, this year, Joy is six now, we were led by faith to make a small increase to our monthly giving.  We later received new ministry pictures in the mail.  One of them showed a home with a banner hanging that read “Joy Orphans Home”.  They were able to rent a home with that money.  Praise the Lord.

They did not know of Joy’s prayers.  But God did.  And he led them to name it after her.  I think that is so cool.

Way to go Joy!  Way to go God!

But we are still asking of the Father.  Each orphan receives one egg, one fruit, and rice each day.  The Lord has always provided money for each of them to have one new clothing at their Christmas celebration, as well as a chicken -n-rice meal at that time.  The orphans and widows have also received Bibles (this came first) in their language.  They have also laid a foundation for a church.

We are not established as a non-profit organization; therefore, we do not have a system for financial accountability in place.  So I will ask you here to join us in prayer for this need.  We would like to one day build a home for our family across the ocean.

“Ask, and it shall be given to you;  seek, and you shall find;  knock, and it shall be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it shall be opened.                  Matthew 7:7
